Max Marlow & Co. consists of a team led by two twin brothers, Alex Max and Eric Marlow. We are full time wedding photographers traveling often between Arizona, Washington, Nevada, Hawaii, and Texas. With an extreme passion for capturing the perfect wedding day and all it’s encompassing candid moments and details we are inspired by fine-art, fashion, creative portraiture, & cinematography. We strive to create art – pieces that can stand on their own. Photos you will want to hang on your wall and videos that will be cherished for generations.

How would you describe your style?

We describe our photographic style as dramatic & elegant fine art. We describe our character style as relaxed, fun, and professional. We make friends with you and those all-around!

Our video style is described as clear cinematic narrative. We are strong in directing and posing but of course aim to capture the moments that are natural and undirected, because those are often the best.

What are the benefits to hiring Max Marlow & Co for both Photo & Video??

The biggest benefit is the fact that we operate smoothly and efficiently while understanding the shots each other likes to get. Posing and directing tend to be similar but with a few nuanced differences that make it necessary to give the photographer time to do his thing, and the videographer needs time as well to capture his unique shots. If an outside photographer feels like he is being invaded or if we feel that another photographer isn’t respecting the shots you hired us to get for video, then both the photographer and videographer won’t deliver as many beautiful images that they could have otherwise if they were completely comfortable working with each other. The fact is the photographer will get in the way of the videographer and visa versa. This makes our relationship powerful because we shoot side by side every day and we know how to let each other work according to our respective crafts.

Do I have to hire both photo and video or can I have another vendor??

You do not have to book both services.

Absolutely you can have other vendors for either photo or video. We understand and work well with other professionals.

What is the booking process to reserve my date?

The booking process is simple. After a consultation meeting to become acquainted and learn of your needs, a booking agreement form is sent to your email for e-signature. Upon signing you will receive an invoice for 25% of the total package to act as the booking retainer. The remaining 75% is due upon arrival on the day of your event.

What are your travel fees?

No travel fees within the continental US. What you see is what you pay.

Do you work well with outside vendors?

Very well. We take initiative to build a nice working relationship with the other vendors. If you hire us for only photography but decide you like the video style of someone else, we support you 100%. We will make friends with your chosen videographer or your chosen photographer and make sure everyone is getting the shots they need.

Do you operate by “winging it”, or off of a structured schedule?

Structured. We communicate with the wedding planner ahead of time to help you be where you need to be when you need to be there. We never wing anything. We scout the best locations, know the venues, and plan accordingly.

Do we receive all RAW photographs or video?

No. RAW format is not consumable/usable for the average client. RAW data is EXTREMELY large in file size and looks nothing like a desired end product. We DO deliver every useable photograph however. For example, even if your package listed with a typical gallery size of 150-300 and we end up with 450 useable images, we will deliver all useable images in the amount of 450.

Raw video is also unusable and unwatchable for the average client. For example, if a client wanted all remaining footage from the ceremony that wasn’t included in the final edit this would end up being video clips from five camera angles not timed correctly, with mismatched audio. We do however offer an addon where we will lightly edit the entire ceremony or toasts so that it can become consumable to the viewer, which you can keep for your private memory. Otherwise it’s just a bunch of clips jumbled up and you can’t watch them without passing it through an editing software. With video every mistake that happens is viewable or hearable. Therefore, we cut the edit in a way to take the best of the best and make it flow into the story of your wedding day.

Can you split up package hours, 4 hours in the morning, 4 hours in the evening?

Only under special circumstances. For example, a thunderstorm rolls through and the ceremony needs to be postponed.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes. We have a certificate of liability insurance on-hand for a $1M policy.

What happens if the photographer scheduled gets sick?

This is a situation we take very seriously. Neither Alex nor Eric have been sick and unable to perform on the job in over 5 years. However, it could happen. In this case, we have a network of professionals able to fill the void who have similar shooting styles to match our photographs and video. All RAW photographs go directly to be edited by Eric Marlow, to maintain the same look you loved when you booked. All video is edited by Alex Max to deliver the cinematic narrative that makes his videos unique.
